Elementor and Rankmath making bad sitemap

  • I’m using Elementor and Rankmath. When I create a sitemap with Rankmath, it includes all these Elementor library pieces which I do not want Google to try to index.

I saw another thread about this, and tried the resolution steps (updating permalinks, updating sitemap) and it’s still not working: I’m still getting an elementor-library-sitemap.xml and I do not want this sent to Google.

    Please help!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I am unable to login to your site, it is reporting the following errors after logging in:

Could you please perform these steps if you have not done them already:
    – Head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Select Elementor Library > Robots Meta and set this to noindex.
    – Next flush your permalinks and this should remove this sitemap from the sitemap index.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

There is no listing for “Elementor Library” under “Titles & Meta”. However, I clicked the one called “My Templates” and noindexed that, re-saved Permalinks, and the bad sitemap file is gone! Thank you!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I am glad that the first issue is now resolved. The attachment sitemap contains all the media attachments including images that you would like to be indexed.
You can disable this sitemap by heading over to Rank Math > Sitemap settings > Media > Include in Sitemap and turn this off.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
