editing my robots.txt

    Hello, want to edit my robots.txt but in the editing section it says “Contents are locked because robots.txt file is present in the root folder.” Does that mean I should delete txt file from the root folder and add a new one? Before RankMath i used Yoast SEO tool. Do you think that belongs to that plugin and therefore I should create a new txt for RankMath as well?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math.

    This error suggests that there is a robots.txt file in the root folder of your website which might be created by some other plugin.

    Please login to your web server via FTP and delete the robots.txt file present in the root folder.

    Once you delete the robots.txt file, Rank Math’s virtual robots.txt file will take over and you will be able to edit the robots.txt file without issues.
