    Hello,

Now with most themes moving away from jQuery? Recently SEO Framework has also announced that it has moved to vanilla javascript which they claim to have
“improved browser performance by up to 99% (not a typo) by exchanging over 300 jQuery calls for vanilla JS ones”

Can Rank Math work without jQuery?

Or is it dependent on jquery for frontend or backend in admin dashboard?

    Regards
    Deepak

  • Hello Team,

    Can someone please check this?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Rank Math plugin uses WordPress inbuild jQuery on the frontend when admin menu bar options are visible i.e when we are logged in to the site and when the Admin menu bar feature is enabled. For non-logged-in users, Rank Math doesn’t add any script.

I hope that helps. Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the response.

What can be the impact if I have enabled the admin bar and the jquery is explicitly disabled?

As I do this practice on my website. I need admin bar for some other plugin but I have explicitly disabled jquery.

    Regards
    Deepak

    Hello,

In that case, some of the Rank Math buttons in the front-end admin bar could not work, but in any case, you can set the same settings in the backend so if you prefer to have jQuery disabled, you shouldn’t be worried about it.

    Looking forward to help you.

    Thanks for the information

Is there any plan for RM to move to Vanilla JS?

    Hello,

It would be a great improvement and probably in the future, we move to Vanilla JS. Right now we have to continue using jQuery to keep compatibility.

    Looking forward to help you.
