Displaying Stars Rating in Search engine results

What Schema type do I have to select in order to display stars rating in search engine results.
I still do not get that even after reading through all the posts here.
On a service we offer I have used “Service” so far.

But I saw a competitor of us having the stars displayed in Google on the same service. So am wondering how to achieve this?
Do i need to pick “Product”? As then I can see there is an option for a rating. But I do not understand where the rating is coming from. Is it your business rating from Google? or where is it from?

If anybody knows about the process, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Blog posts don’t support rating schema. The following schema types support ratings and you can select one of them if they match what the topic of the article that you are writing:
    – Book
    – Course
    – Event
    – Product
    – Recipe
    – Software Application

Please note that there is not standalone star rating Schema available in any SEO plugin.

The old review Schema is not supported by Google:
