Hi RankMath,
My snippet in google (for ibfmed.ca) shows up as “ibfm logo, natural treatments for sleep, headache, fatigue …” but when I look at what I have written in RankMath for that homepage, I have “OHIP MDs | Effective therapy for insomnia, fatigue & more!”. How do I get the snippet on google to tally with what I have entered in RankMath? There seems to be a discrepancy only with this page; the other pages have the google snippet equal to what I entered in RankMath.
I followed the instructions that your AI bot recommended and everything checks out to be correct. I haven’t changed this snippet since I first set it weeks ago although google says the cached version of the page is July 18, 2024. I definitely haven’t changed the snippet since then.

It’s important to note that even if you have set a specific meta title and description in Rank Math, Google may choose to display different information based on its algorithms and what it deems more relevant to the search query. This can happen for various reasons, including:
- Google’s Discretion: Google sometimes ignores the custom meta information and displays content from the page that it believes better matches the search intent.
- Caching: If the cached version of your page is from July 18, 2024, it may take some time for Google to re-crawl and re-index your page with the updated meta title and description.
- Content Relevance: Google may find other content on your page, such as headings or prominent text, more relevant to the search query, leading it to display that instead.
To check if Google has indexed your changes, you can use the
cache:command followed by your URL in the search bar (e.g.,cache:ibfmed.ca). This will show you the last cached version of your page and the date it was cached.
If you find that the cache date is still from before your changes, you will need to wait for Google to re-crawl your page. Unfortunately, there is little we can do to ensure that Google uses the meta description you’ve written, as this process is automated.
