    Hi team,
I’ve recently installed Rankmath for my site to replace Yoast SEO plugin. Before install RankMath my shop page + category page display as pagination as (page 1, 2,3…) but after that It’ve been changed to scroll mode (Infinite Scrolling)
Current setting is 12 product per page)

I am using flatsome and here is my shop URL https://haisanngosu.com/san-pham/

Since the issues may come from RankMath, would you mind to help me where I can fix it.

    Thanks a lot!

    Dennis

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with pagination on your WooCommerce shop page after installing Rank Math. To disable pagination and revert to the traditional pagination style, you can follow these steps:

    1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Misc. Pages.

Rank Math > Titles and Meta > Misc Pages

    2. In the Misc. Pages settings, you will find the Noindex Paginated Single Pages option.

      NoIndex-Paginated-Single-Pages

    3. Enable this option to set noindex on paginated pages, which will prevent /page/2 and any other archives from showing up in the search results.

      Noindex in paginated pages

By following these steps, you can disable pagination and restore the traditional pagination style on your WooCommerce shop page. If you encounter any further issues or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out to our support team here.

    Thank you for reaching out!

    Hi team
Thanks for your quick response. It’s very helpful
Just quick question regarding “best SEO practice for Woocommerce” should I keep current setting (display as pagination) or display as infinite scrolling mode ? Which one is better
    Thanks
    Dennis

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that this issue might have caused.

Both pagination and infinite scrolling have their own advantages and it really depends on the specific needs of your website.

Pagination is generally better for SEO as it allows search engines to easily crawl and index individual pages(If you enable the Noindex Paginated Single Pages/Noindex Subpages option from the Rank Math > General > Miscellaneous Pages, those pages will not be indexed). It also provides a better user experience for those who want to navigate to a specific page or share a specific page with others.

Infinite scrolling, on the other hand, can provide a smoother user experience, especially for mobile users. It can be beneficial for engagement as it encourages users to keep scrolling and consuming more content.

However, infinite scrolling can sometimes cause issues with SEO as search engine bots may have trouble crawling and indexing all the content. It can also make it difficult for users to navigate to a specific item or point in the content.

In terms of SEO best practices for WooCommerce, we would generally recommend using pagination. Ultimately, the choice between pagination and infinite scrolling should be based on what works best for your users and your content. You can follow this guide to add numeric pagination to your WordPress site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-numeric-pagination-in-your-wordpress-theme/

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi Ike
    Thanks for your response.
I just enable “Noindex Paginated Single Pages” and refresh the shop page https://haisanngosu.com/san-pham/ but It is still displaying as infinite scrolling (I expected it will display as numberic pagination ex 1,2,3) each page I set 12 products.

It’s quite strange because I blog page still displaying correctly as numberic pagination: https://haisanngosu.com/category/tin-tuc/

    Hello,

The “Noindex Paginated Single Pages” option in Rank Math does not change the pagination to infinite scrolling (kindly ignore the reply from RankBot here).

That is the reason we shared a guide that could assist you in adding numeric pagination to your WordPress site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-numeric-pagination-in-your-wordpress-theme/

If you want us to look more closely at this issue on your site, you can edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Hello,

We were able to determine that the pagination of your shop page was configured through your site’s theme – Flatsome. It was previously set to “Infinite scroll”.
    https://imgur.com/eWmhuQ2

We have now set it to “Normal navigation” at WordPress Dashboard > Flatsome > Advanced > Content Delivery > Shop pagination.

Please note that since you do not want paginated pages to be indexed by search engines, the pagination style you choose will not make a difference to your site’s SEO.

This implies that if the majority of your visitors/users access your site using mobile phones or smaller devices it may be a better option to implement an infinite pagination option.

We hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us should you have further inquiries or concerns.

    Thanks.

Thanks Ike, I am very appreciated
It displays correctly now, thanks again for your help and your patient.
