Description and image not showing in G for specific page

    Hi

Since the WP update, keywords I was ranking for on a specific page have drastically fallen and are still falling.

The description and image for each are no longer showing in G ( see screenshot) and only part of a sentence seem to show.

I’ve attached some issues I’ve found in GSC, not sure if these are related.

This is the second support ticket I’ve created as it seems the one from yesterday morning has been overlooked. Thank you

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you share the specific URLs where you see it happening? So we can check and try to help you.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I’m not getting the page title show up in search now, instead it is showing as this:

    Hello,

I checked the URL you provided. Your description is properly set up if you can check your page source. https://i.rankmath.com/HwXR1o

You can use this tool for the same as well: https://www.heymeta.com/

It is however likely that Google has not seen the changes and the version showing up on Google is a cached version of your page which was seemingly blank at the time of indexing. Here is a screenshot: https://i.rankmath.com/2tZokv

Here is how to check when the Google cache was updated for that page:
    a.

    b.

In this case you just have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. You can also request re-indexing for your page on your GSC

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.

    Hi Michael

Thanks very much for your help, it explained a lot. That page is now showing in search with the description and title (although no image on mobile search).

But I’ve noticed a lot of other pages don’t seem to be indexed in Google at all now, such as: https://www.peststopsolutions.com/early-signs-of-bed-bugs/

I’ve don’t a Live Test in GSC and the screenshot is blank. I’ve asked G to index it again and still nothing.

Also all the descriptions for the pages that are still showing in G are all incorrect. https://ibb.co/KKPWcrn https://ibb.co/KKpG5Gy

Not sure if you know how to sort this. Is this all because of the WP5.5 update or the integration with Ezoic?

Thanks again and look forward to hearing back.

    Hello,

The source code of your pages seems fine, everything is set as index and meta is set as it should so I guess it is just a temporary issue meanwhile Google crawls the site and identify the right search intent (since Google can modify the title and description to fulfill the user’s search intent).

I would give it a few days and then check again if the issue is solved (or being solved).

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi again

Looking through GSC I see there is a sitemap error

    https://ibb.co/2WFrJcX

I have gone into Rank Math and saved the settings again but still same error on GSC.

    Thanks

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I checked your sitemap and it seems to reflect our published pages perfectly. I also added an exclusion to exclude sitemap in your caching plugin settings. To validate your sitemap, I used this tool: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html and all seems to be fine.

Could you please resubmit your sitemap on GSC and let us know if the issue persists.

Please note that it is completely upto Google if they want to index or not index your website. So, if you haven’t willingly or accidentally made your posts noindex and Google still isn’t indexing your page – it means that either Google doesn’t want to index or hasn’t crawled your page yet because it hasn’t allocated that much crawl budget to your website.

Please check this website for more details.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi Michael

Thanks for looking into this. I’ve resubmitted the sitemap as requested but still getting the same error of: Empty Sitemap.

    https://ibb.co/NnKDkmG

I don’t understand how after all this time, Google suddenly decides not to list the pages anymore.

I’ve asked in previous emails but haven’t had an answer, looking at the coding of the pages, could this be because of integrating the site with Ezoic?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hello,

I am trying to log in again to check it deeper but once I log in I am being redirected to the localhost (127.0.0.1), could you check it?

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi

I think I’ve solved it! I changed the nameservers away from Ezoic and back to the original host and sitemap has been submitted again and now showing the correct number of URLs.

Thanks for helping out with this. Hopefully this has fixed it
