  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please confirm if the error occurs when you try to update the plugin after migration/deployment or is it happening while you are in the process of deploying it?

Please try deleting the plugin and re-install a fresh copy of it. Don’t worry, the settings data should not be remove after re-installing it.

Let us know how that goes. looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Jeremy,

    Thank you for the response.

We are getting this error during our deployment and the deployment is failed with above error and didn’t proceed further.

Can you please let us know what could be the root cause for this issue. Is it a problem with latest version of plugin I guess a new version is released 3 days back.

    Regards,
    Pramod M

Also I would like to inform you that this plugin is installed using composer in our environment.

    Regards,
    Pramod M

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

At the moment, we don’t have any similar issues from other users so the issue may be specific on your end. To double-check, please make sure to add your Rank Math username and API key to the code to install the plugin on your site. Here is a guide that you can follow: https://rankmath.com/kb/install-rank-math-pro-with-composer/

Also, try checking your server’s permissions when extracting compressed files in your website.

If the issue persists, let us know so I can check this further with our development team.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

    Hi Jeremy,

Yes, we are using user name and API key to download the plugin through composer.

As mentioned when we trigger the workflow initially the package will be downloaded in GitHub runners and the extraction is failed at GitHub runners itself. And GitHub support team confirmed that there is no issue form their end.

Also just want to check, is there any new version of plugin released after September 27th? We didn’t face any issue before that.

Yes, can you please check with development team on this issue as it is blocking our activity completely.

    Regards,
    Pramod M

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Jaideep,

    Thank you for the update.

    Hello,

We are glad we could help. If you have additional questions, do not hesitate to ask.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We have investigated this issue and it seems that the process we use to generate the zip package for Rank Math Pro produces a file that is not always compatible with the unzip command (the default extraction method on Unix systems).
We will see if we can adjust this in the future to avoid this issue. Until then, you can solve the issue by using a different ZIP extractor app, for example PKZip.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Balazs,

Thank you for the update :). Is this an intermittent issue? Earlier we didn’t face this kind of issue.

Also can you please let us know when this issue will be fixed tentatively.

We are using GitHub workflows to deploy the code. So all these dependencies we are adding in composer file and it will be first downloaded and installed in GitHub runners first where we don’t have control to install the app (ex: PKZIP) manually.

I guess we have to update all our workflows to remove Unzip package and add commands in yml file chose extractor, and download the PKZIP, and to install PKZIP app (we need to analyse the commands).

Can you please confirm is my understanding correct?

    Regards,
    Pramod M

    Hi Pramod,

We will do our best to resolve this issue. We haven’t changed anything related to the zip compression process recently, so we are unsure what the cause could be. A new update will be released soon, please try that when it is out, and let us know the results. Until then, you can try using Pkzip or 7zip to extract the file.

Thank you. If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Hello,
