Default meta not showing on new posts

    Hello

When I generate a new post draft I get the incorrect default meta tags and a pre-injected keyword from another article instead of the default meta as per my settings.

Why is this happening? It is not the first time it happens and seems to pop up in the last 4-5 updates.

Please see pic examples and sensitive data

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you provide what settings are you using in global settings? You can take a screenshot or record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the settings and include the link in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Also, are you still getting the incorrect meta even after adding content or publishing the post?

Thank you, and we really look forward to helping you.

I cannot provide you a link as it automatically generated when I click on add post and it is in draft format.

I normally change the metadata for the post before I publish and there are no issues once I post.

This was recognized as a problem in a previous ticket some months ago and it is back again. A problem that was promised to be remedied in subsequent updates.

I have updated the sensitive data with an image of my default settings, I should be seeing those in freshly generated new posts and not the original screenshot.

    Hello,

I’m sorry for the delay, and thank you for that additional information.

It seems working fine on our end:

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), could you please head to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Posts, then try to save changes and try a hard refresh to clear the cache JS?

    Windows: Ctrl + F5
    Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
    Linux: F5

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

I am sorry you have misunderstood the problem. It is not a cache issue as I have done all that already.

As stated the problem is when you click on add new post and create a draft. The default meta descriptions are being pulled from an existing published post and not the default meta settings.

I have to then go in a manually change them in the draft post, which I would do anyway for the specific content.

The default settings should be the ones showing in any new draft, not a random pull from another post.

Do you understand this? I have given you plenty of data and images to show the issue

It has nothing to do with your own installation which, to be honest I am puzzled why you would even consider that.

    Hello,

Sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience caused due to that.

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

Thank you, and we really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,
