dateModified prior to datePublished

    Hello,

This can be a problem facing Google. If you don’t modified the post after its publication (for example, if you schedule the post), the schema markup dateModified take the date from the last draft. So, as you can see in the image, the dateModified date can be earlier than datePublished date, which has no sense at all.

I’m a SEO expert and I know this can be a problem, particularly on Google News and Google Discover. DateModified should be at least the same date as datePublished, never earlier.

    Hello,

We take that information from WordPress. We do not fiddle with it. All we do is we take your WP data and we make it Schema friendly.

Here in my test installation, you can see that the dateModified and datePublished are correctly updated in real-time:
    https://i.rankmath.com/cCSZ43

Please check the above Screencast and let us know if you followed some other process to derive at the conclusion that the dateModified and datePublished are not in sync with your WP installation.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

I added an example in sensitive data. As you will see, dateModified (the date in which post was scheduled) is prev to datePublished (the date in which the post was published)

    Hi,

    Yes, I saw your screenshot.

Did you check my screencast? It clearly shows I cannot replicate this issue from my end.

If that doesn’t work, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

The example post you shared doesn’t seem to exist.

Could you please share the correct URL where we can see this issue?

We also installed a plugin that allows you to see the last modified time as per WP but we need the URL to see if WP is outputting the correct time or is it just Rank Math acting up.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I am not longer able to access the admin section.

    I am getting this error:

Please disable the firewall so we can access the admin area and check it again.

    Hi,

Apparently our hosting has a firewall by language, so only users with the Spanish language added in the browser can access to admin. If you don’t mind, please add Spanish language to your browser, and you should be able to login. In Chrome it would be:

Settings > Advanced > Languages, add. And add Spanish.

    In Firefox:

Preferences > Content > Languages > Select Spanish [es], and add to the browser.

In any case, once added, clear cache and cookies, and restart the browser. Then try to login.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Let me know if you can enter.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the follow up.

It seems the dates are set so on your WordPress dashboard. In the screenshot below, Ran math is deactivated yet the date modified is prior to date published:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Thank you for the reply. So it’s because WordPress… Would you mind giving me some suggestions on what might be causing the problem?

I’m using Linux cron instead of WordPress cron, perhaps this is the problem?

    Hello,

I would recommend you to test if it is the Linux cron since it seems it is the only difference from your installation with a normal one and in a normal one that issue doesn’t seem happening.

Once you do it, please let us know the result.

    Looking forward to help you.
