DATA PIN DESCRIPTION NOT WORKING

I’ve been adding the Pinterest data descriptions into my code and it was working fine. I was previously using Yoast and switched to RankMath yesterday, now the data-pin-description is not pulling through to Pinterest and isn’t even pulling in the alt tag. The title and pin ID seems to work ok. I’m using Sumo as my social sharing, is there a conflict with RankMath? I’m out of ideas, can you help?

  • Hi Todd,

I gave access to the previous guy that was helping me, he already checked the file in there and it was ok. He said he would login and look at the back end if it still didn’t work – please see sensitive data section for temporary login>

I have added HTML code in many of my posts hence it pulls through the pin description. If you check this updated post where I have added the PIN description into the Social Pug plugin but not HTML code – you see the Pin description is not pulling through.

    Hi Vanessa,

It looks like there was a mismatch between your MediaVine Social Pug settings and the description you set in Rank Math.

I have changed the description on that post to match the one you used in Social pug and now I see that Pinterest is picking that description.

    Does that work for you?

I have pinned all 3 pins at the bottom of the page which have different pin descriptions and they are all pulling in the alt text instead of the pin description specified.

What do you mean when you say ‘mismatch’? What are you changing?

    Hi Venessa,

I am sorry but I think there is a misunderstanding.

    Do you mean these pins?

Rank Math has nothing to do with this. We thought you were talking about the OpenGraph tags Rank Math adds to your source code.
