Custom Schema Default on Custom Post Type

#794979
  • So I created a custom schema using the custom schema generator and I’m attempting to add it as a default to my custom post type, locations.

However, when I go into the backend under Titles & Met under the post type, I don’t see the option to select any one of my custom schemas as the default.

All I see are the default ones.

Is there something I’m missing or is there a way to fix this?

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you are facing with setting a custom schema as the default for your custom post type. To set a custom schema as the default for your custom post type, you need to follow these steps:

    1. Head over to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Rank Math SEO → Titles and Meta.

    2. Click on the Posts option from the left tab menu.

    3. Scroll down to find the Schema Type option.

    4. Click on the drop-down menu to see all the Schema types supported by Rank Math.

    5. Select the custom schema type you created using the custom schema generator for your custom post type.

    6. Save your settings.

If you are unable to see your custom schema in the list of available options, please ensure that you have saved the custom schema correctly and that it is available in the Schema Templates section under Rank Math SEO → Schema Templates.

If you continue to experience difficulties, please reply here, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern.

I’ve done this already, and I still don’t see the Custom Schema I created. I want to auto add this custom schema to a custom post type, but I don’t see it.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math Support.

Can you please let us know how you have created the custom schema from your end? You may check this guide to help you further: https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-generator/

However, please note that this feature is only available for the PRO plan so it seems that you’re currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin, but the account you have used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

Can you please share the email address which you used to purchase the plugin or you can search and forward the receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your account?

    Hello,

The only way to do this is by using the Schema Templates and adding the custom markup to the pages using the display conditions.

You can learn all about this feature here: https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-templates/

It’s possible to set a condition that would apply this to all pages from a particular CPT of your choice.

You won’t be able to select this Schema markup from the Titles & Meta settings of the CPT.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
