Currency and Woocommerce price

    Hi there,

I have a question regarding the Products schema markup. In the RankMatch settings for a product we have to specify the price and currency when adding the Product Schema markup. But how do you set a currency if you are selling worldwide? We don’t want $ to show up in the search results for NL for example. Then it should be €. Is there a way to set this dynamically?

And the second part, we are using %wc_price% to insert the product price. But this returns the following: €49.90 EUR I reckon this should be: 49.90

    Hope you can help.

    With kind regards,
    Richard

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

If you are using WooCommerce product schema, you do not need to define the price currency as this is taken directly from WooCommerce.

If you as using Product schema, you should have fields to change the data as shown here: https://i.rankmath.com/xYUodY. This show the data as expected in the front end as you can see here: https://i.rankmath.com/8wfoDb

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for your quick reply.

If you are using WooCommerce product schema, you do not need to define the price currency as this is taken directly from WooCommerce.

I’m not sure what you mean with “Woocommerce product schema”. We added the Rankmath product schema to all of our products. And for every product we need to add the currency. Like you showed in the image that you added. But if we fill out $ then this currency will be used for all countries. For example, in the Netherlands we want €. How can we make this currency dynamic?

If we leave the currency field empty, then we will get a warning from the structured data testing tool.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

So you mean, normally %wc_price% should only output the price and not extra currency details right?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

The %wc_price% variable will follow the currency and the product’s price based on what you have set in WooCommerce settings. Still, it will not change dynamically for different countries accessing your site.

If you wanted your currency to change dynamically, you could attain that via WooCommerce’s filter. You may need to make changes in WooCommerce for the currency to be dynamic.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

    Hi Reinelle,

Thank you for your reply, but I wasn’t talking about the currency on our website. I was talking about the currency that is being displayed in the search results as affect of the Product Schema Markup (please see my first message).

Michael mentioned “If you are using WooCommerce product schema, you do not need to define the price currency as this is taken directly from WooCommerce.” But I’m not sure what he means. Can someone explain?

    Thanks

    Hello,

There is a difference between WooCommerce Product schema and the product schema in terms of how Rank math schema is added to the pages, here is a screenshot:
    img

    1. WooCommerce Product Schema: With this, Rank math automatically takes data from WooCommerce Product and add this to the schema Content. This can’t be edited from the schema tab.

    2. Product schema: According to your explanation, this seems to be the schema you are using. In this case you should add the data to the required fields.

The variable, %wc_price% is used to show the Price inclusive of the currency, here is a screenshot:

Hope this helps you. Thank you
