Crawled but not indexed ‘search rss’

    Hi,

    I am seeing a Crawled but not indexed issue popping up in GSC and most of the URLS seem to be from my search page.

    I don’t think it’s that serious but would like to know if you have any idea what is going on?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    Rank math has an option to noindex Search results. You can find the option in Rank math > Titles & Meta > Misc Pages

    This option is enabled by default because it is a good SEO practice to noindex site search results.

    Ok, I understand. So you are saying that since I have this option on, it’s normal for these to appear here?

    I also see that my normal URLS are appearing in the ‘crawled but not indexed’ results. In the screenshot you can see my normal page URLs are showing up. Do you know why? My site is established so I am not sure why they are showing up as crawled but not indexed?

    Hello,

    Yes, it is standard practice to noindex site search results. I am sorry but I am only seeing search result pages in the screenshot. I am not sure which page you are referring to as a normal page. Would you mind specify a page that does not start with the search phrase?

    If you want then you can disable the Noindex Search Results option which I mentioned earlier, by going to Rank math > Titles & Meta > Misc Pages:

    My apologies. You are correct I thought the URL was in the screenshot. I’ve added another one with some URLS from my site.

    Thanks for the additional information.

    I checked both of the posts that you highlighted in the screenshot. They seem to have no such issues because I checked their page source and found a meta robots index tag present in the HTML.

    Please note that it is completely up to Google if they want to index or not index a page from your site. So, if you haven’t willingly or accidentally made your posts noindex and Google still isn’t indexing your page – it means that either Google doesn’t want to index or hasn’t crawled your page yet because it hasn’t allocated that much crawl budget to your website.
