  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

It is usually not a good SEO practice to delete to Delete URLs that are already indexed. However in a case where it has, or is already done, you should redirect the deleted URL to an existing page on your site or your homepage. This is because even though you deleted the page, it’s URL was already indexed and added to Google cache. Google doesn’t usually remove missing(404) pages URLs immediately from indexing.

To resolve your issue, please redirect your deleted page. You can also use Rank math fall back behavior in Rank math > General Settings > Redirect and set it to Homepage or a custom Page.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.

    i already have same setting.
    Redirect

    error page url is https://miraiagent.co.jp/fene

Redirect setting is not working.(showing 404 page.not home page)

    please check.

    Hi Masa,

That option in your screenshot is for attachment pages.

Please use the redirect option from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections.

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. We give you an option to choose between the two during the setup wizard and you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode.

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

Here is a screenshot for reference:

Then, enable the Redirection module from the same page.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    enabled “Redirection module” now.

is RankMath automatycaly add “Deleted page” to Resirections?

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow up.

Unfortunately No. However, since you have set the fall back behavior to 404, all URLs that lead to a page not found on your site will be automatically redirected to homepage.

Hoping this helps you. Thank you.

this is deleted page. now showing 404 page.

but its not “automatically redirected to homepage.”

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Hello,

I changed it and now it seems to be working, could you check it?

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hello,

Enabling the fallback behavior to homepage eliminates all 404 on your site by redirecting all of them to your homepage. There will therefore be no need for the not-exist page.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.

which is good setting for SEO ?

301 or 410 for deleted page.

    Masa

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow up.

301 redirect usually forwards the value of the redirected URL to the destination URL. URLs redirected through 301 take sometime before being removed from indexed URLs.

410 on the other hand informs the search engines that the page is permanently gone and URLs redirected with this are removed from indexing as soon as Google crawls your page and updates their cache.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.

    thank you so much.
