  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Your site and your sitemap altogether return an error code Unable to verify the first certificate.. It is likely an issue withing your site or your host. :

    Hello,

We’ve checked your site for that issue, and you have several versions, so we’d suggest you consolidate all versions of your website and only use one version.

    Please see screenshot below:
    ss-1

Once you’ve done that it should fix the issue.

I hope that helps. Let us know if you need help with anything else.

    Thank you.

I am a kind of new to these things if you don’t mind can you guide me how to do that?

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site, and it seems to be getting an error 404 while trying to access your sitemap index. In this case, you may have to flush permalinks. Please don’t be scared, and it is fairly easy to do.

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

And this should fix the issue.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hello,

You have an http version and an https version. You would need to just have 1 version of those two.

Perhaps you can try forcing your site to https from WordPress Dashboard > General or use a rewrite code in htaccess.

Also, try to exclude sitemaps from caching if you are using Cloudflare by following this guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

I hope this helps resolve your issue.

    @reinelle
I have tried that now but still, I am getting the same error in google console

    @uzair

I already forced HTTPS in htaaccess, also in Cloudflare
    Automatic HTTPS Rewrites
    Always Use HTTPS
    are on

I also checked this guide but it didn’t explain where to place the code in Cloudflare
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems to be working fine now. To exclude your sitemap from caching in Cloudflare, you may need to follow the steps where you can place the code in the link below:

    https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200172316-How-do-I-include-or-exclude-a-specific-URL-from-Cloudflare-s-page-rules-

After excluding the sitemap in Cloudflare, please resubmit only your sitemap file /sitemap_index.xml in Google Search Console and give Google a few days to crawl your website.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

Just added a page rule with bypass cache to my sitemap
but still, I get this error in google console

    https://supertechrockers.ga/sitemap_index.xml Unknown Jan 2, 2021, Couldn’t fetch 0

    Hello,

I understand you may have already gone through some of these steps but please check and try the following:

    1. Is the sitemap working fine in your browser? You can check that by going domain(.)com/sitemap_index.xml

If the sitemap is working fine, you can try validating it on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

If the validation works, please move to the second point.

    2. Have you verified the correct version of your website on Google? Please check if you have verified the www (or non-www) and https (or http) version of your website. If there is a mismatch, please fix that.

    3. Remove any submitted sitemap on your GSC.

    4. Flush and refresh the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    5. Head back to your GSC and only resubmit the main sitemap file(sitemap_index.xml)

If you have followed these and you are able to view your sitemap without any problem, then Rank Math is outputting your sitemap correctly and the error must be coming from Google. You can try and use a 3rd party sitemap plugin to confirm. Just make sure you have disabled the Sitemap module of Rank Math in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard when using a 3rd party sitemap plugin.

If the other plugin works, please do let us know.

    Thank you.

I think its a problem with my host thank you for this awsome support!
