Couldn’t Fetch Error for Site Map

Hello,

I’m getting an error in Google Search console for my Site Map. It says “Couldn’t Fetch.”
I’ve read your troubleshooting posts to resolve this issue and still can’t fix it.

I checked my site map (XML) in Validate XML Sitemap and the error I’m getting is “Incorrect http header content-type: “text/html; charset=UTF-8” (expected: “application/xml”).

I checked my site health in Tools > Site Health and it reports Good. Only issue is deleting inactive plugins.
As suggested, I went into Settings > Permalinks and saved again. Problem not yet solved.

What can I do to fix the problem? Please help.
