Connection Issue

    Greetings,

I have researched and followed every “tip” on how to connect to Google Services, but utterly to no avail. It’s obviously a connection issue, but there is seemingly no “test connection” option anywhere to be found – and yes, I’m in Advanced mode. What can I do to rectify this frustrating glitch?

Thanks for any assistance you may render,

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the connection issue you are facing with Google Services in Rank Math. If you are unable to locate the “Test Connections” option even though you are in Advanced mode, it might be due to a glitch or a specific setting.

To resolve this, please ensure that you are following the correct steps to access the “Test Connections” option:

    1. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics.
    2. Look for the Test Connections option at the top right of the Analytics settings, as shown in the image below:

    Test connections

If you still can’t find the option, I recommend checking your settings again and refreshing the page. If the problem persists, consider clearing your browser cache or trying a different browser.

If you continue to face issues, please reply here with more details, and we will assist you further.

Thank you for reaching out for assistance.

I have checked my settings and have gone through all of the tutorials and enabled that which was recommended. I’ve confirmed that I have Google refresh tokens. My rank math account is the most recent version; I went to google and removed the rank math app to remove access; and confirmed that I selected the Advanced mode.

All of this to no avail, and a simple thing like a “test connection” option is not anywhere to be found.

    Hello,

The Test Connection button should show up upon successfully connecting your site to your GSC and Analytics.

For Google Search Console, please verify using the URL prefix and ensure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    Prefix

You can follow our guide here to create the URL Prefix property:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

Regarding the Analytics drop-down, this can happen if you haven’t created a property for your website.

If not yet, please visit this page (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/) and sign up for a Google Analytics account and property, then reconnect your Google Account so the new Analytics account will reflect in that section.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thanks for responding.

It all sounds easy enough, but the Google Search Console won’t display the property dropdown box and keeps going straight to the “select property type”.

I went to the “Start Now” to no avail, then I tried their step-by-step tutorial, but it still bypasses the first step of adding property. Hence, I can’t verify what I can’t add.

Nothing is set up as everyone describes. I finally jumped through enough hoops to find the “add property” option. However, it rejects my verification and says “not found in regular location” – whatever that means.

I’ve finished signing up for a Google Analytics account, filled out the form, and then tried to add the new plugin (monsterinsights) to integrate my tags for me; however, it won’t activate because the java script wont load.

I cannot believe all these hurdles just to connect to google services. One simple glitch, and its seemingly impossible to rectify.

Good news. I finally got the connection established and have successfully connected the google services and analytics. I’ll figure out the Java script issue myself. Thanks for listening why I struggled through the process. Crickets.
