Conflict with Classic Editor

  • Resolved Jake

    Hi team,

I’m having problems editing posts with the “Classic Editor.” When attempting to click “edit” and proceed to make changes to the post, the link is actually taking me to a DIFFERENT post inside WordPress and not the one that I intended to edit.

For example, if I attempt to edit post A by clicking on “edit” post A, I am actually redirected to the editor for post B instead. There’s no way to actually edit post A.

It seems like a replica of this issue:

TESTING: I ran the health and troubleshooting plugin. I reverted back to the WordPress classic theme and disabled all plugins one at a time. I can confirm that the only plugin that is causing this conflict is Rank Math.

I can edit the posts using the Gutenberg (Block Editor) but not in classic mode (Classic Editor). The issue may be related to a conflict between the classic editor.

Would really appreciate any support with this because it’s driving me insane.

  • Hi team,

Please let me know if you need any more information/access.

    Hi team,

Ticket no longer needed. I’ve had to deactivate Rank Math, sadly, to avoid any conflicts.

Thanks for all of the support and I hope that I can use Rank Math again one day when the issues are sorted.

    Hello Jake,

I am so sorry to hear that. 🙁

I wish things had turned out different.

We just weren’t able to replicate this from our end and had numerous issues locating the issue on yours.

As you might have seen on our FB post, this issue didn’t exist for us:

I am sure this is because of some combination of theme/plugins. We will be testing this more thoroughly and release a fix.
