Hello,
I have several sites where I use both Rank Math and Blubrry PowerPress. I have recently transitioned two of my sites from Yoast to Rank Math, and after doing so the PowerPress player no longer displays on my posts. If I disable RankMath, the player is back. Is there a known issue between both plugins?

I had Yoast installed on five sites where this plugin was installed. I have slowly transitioned to RankMath on all of these sites over the past few months. Of the five two do not display the player after RankMath was installed. I did the basic installation on both. I turned all of the plugins off, and turned them all on one by one. I noticed that once I activate RankMath, the player does not appear.

Thank you for providing the FTP access. I logged into your site and spent considerable time debugging this issue. The problem is the Blubrry PowerPress plugin is embedding the audio using the get_the_excerpt filter and Rank Math also uses the same function as a fallback when text is not added in the Social fields in the Rank Math meta box.
Sadly, there is nothing we could do to fix this issue as the plugin is changing the excerpt content using -1 priority. I would suggest you contact the plugin author and ask them to run the filter code after the wp_head hook since that’s where the embed link is needed.
For not, to fix the issue on your staging site, I have added text in the Facebook description field in the Social tab on the following page: nom******.dreamhosters.com/2019/10/31/no-metal-cred-podcast-episode-013-duran-duran/.
This seemed to have fixed the issue. Can you please confirm?

What I don’t understand is why the combination of the two plugins works on two other sites and their test domains?
For example: https://fusionsonica.dreamhosters.com/2019/10/31/fusion-sonica-episode-19-bruce-dickinson/
Both of these sites use your plugin and the powerpress plugin. If I deactivate your plugin on either of the first two sites I sent you, the powerpress plugin works. It’s easy to say the issue is theirs, but it only happens when your plugin is active. If there isn’t a fix, I can always switch back to Yoast for these two. I don’t want to, but if there is no other alternative, then it kind of leaves me no other option.

Maybe it’s working on these pages because you have manually added a description in the Social fields or in the WP Excerpt field? The issue is when using the excerpt from the content. I see the plugin developer has added some code to make the plugin compatible with Yoast so that could be the reason why it’s working fine with Yoast.
Have you tried contacting the Powerpress team?

It works fine with RankMath on all of my other sites. It’s only these two sites where RankMath and PowerPress are not working together.
I have not contacted them. Wouldn’t it make sense for your team to contact them to see if RankMath could also have code added integrated into their plugin like other third party plugins?
If this happened on all of my sites, then I would agree there is 50% chance something wrong on their end. But since it work fine everywhere else, it seems as if it is an issue on your end.
Like I mentioned, deactivating your plugin on the two sites where I am having difficulties makes the powerpress plugin work. I troubleshot both sites. I have deactivated every plugin and activated them one by one. Your plugin is the only one that causes a conflict. That points to there being an issue with certain iterations of your plugin. I am not technical enough to understand or find out where, which is why I turned to your team.
The only time their plugin doesn’t work on those sites is when your plugin is activated. I figured it would be in your interest to try and look for a fix in the event that this happens more. I realize that your plugin is free, and as a result it probably does not make sense to spend the time to make sure it works in every instance, as there is an endless number of combinations with other plugins. If this is something you feel is not in your interest in solving, please let me know, and I’ll just revert back to Yoast on these sites. I’ll also know how to proceed when instructing people on what SEO plugin to use on their sites.
I don’t want to be a jerk about things, but it has been over three weeks ago when I brought this issue to your team’s attention. The only time I’ve had anything answered in a short amount of time is when I posted about an issue on your facebook page. Other times that I have reached out I’ve had to wait a considerable amount of time. If this was not my own site, and was a client site, I would not have had this amount of patience, and I probably would have reverted back to Yoast. Waiting more than a few days is unacceptable, especially if you’re asking people to look to a new option over and industry standard. I like your plugin more, but if there is no other option, or the support isn’t great, I’ll just use the other one instead.

I have done nothing to the site except updating your plugin. To me this is further proof of an issue with your plugin. What I don’t understand it why the update will only effect one site, and not another.

It only resolved the issue on one site, there is still an issue on my other site! Not sure how why I would purchase a pro license given the service I’m receiving at the moment. Nonetheless a lifetime subscription!
