Good day…
I’ve been in touch with Polylang for the past few days trying to figure out some issues I had setting up a translated version for an online store ( rowaves.com ). For SEO we used RankMath as it was my favorite and I managed to convince the client to give up to the old and outdated Yoast plugin.
Everything works perfectly, but we run into an issue with Polylang plugin used for translations. For some reason… when using the main setting in Polylang to ” The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks” the translated product categories disappear and the page is not found anymore.
Because of SEO reasons on RankMath we used these link settings:
– Strip Category Base / ONOn Woocommerce RanMath Settings are as follows:
– Remove base / ON
– Remove category base / ON
– Remove parent slugs / ON
– Remove Generator Tag / ON
– Remove Schema Markup on Shop Archives / ONWe were wondering if there is any possibility that in the future this issue could be fixed in some eventual update ? Apparently Polylang informed us that they cannot accommodate all SEO plugins and they are concentrating mostly on Yoast. I thought that maybe there is some solution that could fix this issue between Polylang and RankMath when using these settings.
I have some screenshots that I can send them eventually in a future email reply both for the settings used on Polylang as well as RankMath in case you want to replicate the problem.
We thank you in advance
