Chinese characters are not counted as words.

    Rank Math free

I like Rank Math SEO very much: it provides almost everything that I need for SEO.
Thank you for this nice plugin.
However, I have encountered a problem when I use it for Chinese websites.
All Chinese characters are not counted as words in Rank Math SEO.
For example, wordpress editor counts 986 words for one of my articles, but Rank Math SEO counts only 63, all of which are English/German/French words.
As a result, some metrics are wrongly calculated, e.g., content length, keyword density. Could you help me about this?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We are working on a fix for this and it will be offered as an update down the line.

This does not affect your SEO or rankings.

It is just the way we are counting the words. Google detects them much better than we can. This only affects the internal score you see in Rank Math which has nothing to do with your actual rankings.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you.
