Child pages don’t show in Google

    Rank Math free

    Hi guys,

I had recently switched from Yoast about 3 months ago to Rank Math and while I love the way Rank Math operates in the backend compared to its previous counterpart, I have noticed that my search results no longer show the child pages of my website in Google. Is this how Rank Math is designed or did I misconfigure something?

As an example, I’ll use a well known website as an example. If you type in Basecamp in Google or see results here, https://ibb.co/LCzQ9zM it shows their main URL then the 6 child pages under that, ie. Basecamp 3, Basecamp 2, How it works, and so on. My site used to do this when I was using Yoast and since switching it over to Rank Math, those child pages no longer even show up in Google.

I’ve been checking for 3 months since implementing this and it still only shows my main URL and no longer the child pages.

What needs to be done to get those to show up?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math.

The structures you are seeing on the search result are called Sitelinks and Google decides them on their own.

Google sitelinks aren’t something you can enable, activate, or opt-in for. It’s up to Google to enable them for a website which they think is authoritative for a given query. There is no specific setting or Schema to instruct Google to display links in Sitelinks.

You can read more about that here:
    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/47334?hl=en

With that said, here’s a nice guide you can follow to increase your chances to have Sitelinks from your website:

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

This is very helpful Alberto. Thank you for your quick reply and info. It’s strange because my site used to have these ‘sitelinks’ and after switching to Rank Math they no longer exist, so I thought it might have been something I did.

I’ll take a look at that last URL you sent and appreciate your explanation of what those were called.
