Changing Author slug not saving

    Hi,

    I recently had search console throw a 404 error on an author slug (it was author/reece&jodie, but has somehow changed to author/reecejodie).

    I’ve tried going to Users and editing the slug via the Rank Math section back to author/reece&jodie. However upon saving the slug is reverting back to the author/reecejodie pre-save version.

    Any idea how to fix this error?

    Thanks for the reply.

    It’s not the ‘Author Base’ I want to change. I want to add an ‘&’ symbol to an authors username/permalink. (It used to be fine… but Rank Math seems to’ve removed it)

    I’ve tried adding & in the Rank Math permalink settings under WordPress > Users > Rank Math > Permalink but same problem – it disappears after saving.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
