Changed page type to post but Rankmath site index is not correct

    Hi,

    I used the plugin “Post Type Switcher” to change a page to a post and added a category and tag.

    The post is now appearing in the post site map index post-sitemap.xml correctly, but it’s also still appearing as a page in the page-sitemap.xml index.

    In addition, there is no tag index page being generated in the site index even though I’ve enabled tags.

    I found the cause of the tag index not appearing to be

    Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives

    under Rank Math -> Global Meta.

    This was ON. I turned it OFF and the tag page appeared in post_tag-sitemap.xml. Interesting, but when I turned it ON again, it stayed there!?

    Also for no apparent reason the post stopped appearing in the page-sitemap.xml index.

    Could this somehow be work of WordPress cron tidy ups in the background after a while (e.g. a daily run) after the page was changed to a post?

    Anyhow, all working now so I’ll close the ticket. I’ve got a few more pages to change to posts so will see how they go.

    We are glad it is all working fine now.

    It could not be due to a cron job. Perhaps it didn’t save correctly the last time?
