Change in Permalink Settings

  • Resolved Hazel

Hi! I recently changed my permalink in my website. From /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ it’s now just /%postname%/ . I just want to know how I can automatically redirect all old links with the old format (/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/) to the new format (/%postname%/)?

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

You can enable the automatic redirection option by heading over to Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections > Auto post redirect.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Hi! I followed your instruction, and I refreshed my blog… but still I get 404 error. How can I fix it? Thank you!

    Hi Hazel,

    Thanks for the follow up.

You can make use of the following regex redirection via the Rank Math > Redirections module:

    Source URLs: /([0-9]{4})/([0-9]{2})/(.+)
    Type: Regex
    Destination URL: http://yourdomain.com/$3

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

Thank you! I think it worked absolutely fine now! Hope I don’t encounter broken links anymore. Thank you again! 🙂
