category word is not coming between domain and category url

Hello, yesterday I had published an article with URL domain.com/abc/ (for example) then I created a category for that type of post with the name ‘abc’ and set the permalink as /abc/ in wordpress category dashboard.

Then I noticed that the permalink of the category was domain.com/abc/ same as the post URL and I can’t open the post with the permalink /abc/.

I have another old blog with a Yoast plugin installed where the permalink structure of category is domain.com/category/abc.

Initially, I thought the same will happen with the current blog with Rank Math Plugin installed.

But not.

So I deleted the category with the same url because I cant open the post and each time when I browse the url it redirectets me to the category page.

I think you understand my problem.

All blogger make noindex category url and so Rank Math.

I have two query:

1. I want my category url as domain.com/category/abc (not domain.com/abc/). How to do that?
2. Is there any advantage of no category word in category url (i.e., domain.com/abc/ as category url)?? In that case I have to set the category url not like this domain.com/category/abc/ .

I have some confusion.
Please guide me.
