Category pages vs article pages in terms of ranking

    Should we try to rank for category pages or article pages. for my keyword term, category pages is ranking on top and some article pages too in SERF. For new website where should I focus on – trying to rank category pages or article pages?

    It depends on what type of content you are writing and how you are using the category pages.

    If you are using them to create a silo structure – by all means try to rank them. If they are just competing with your actual content – I wouldn’t try ranking them.

    But, it is a personal choice and it can differ from one site to the next.
