Can’t link site to RankMath or Activate SEO module

    Have an existing site where we setup RankMath a while ago and everything was fine until I noticed after the latest update (?) that the SEO analyzer wanted to activate the module by linking the site to Rankmath. I thoyught I hade done this earlier, but when I try now, no success.
    1: I click the Activate button in the sectrion with “The plugin is currently not activated, click on the button below to login or register for FREE using your Google account, Facebook account or your email account.”
    2: I login and authorize Rankmath to access the site
    3: I’m redirected back to the activation page again as i nothing happened. No errors.

    Any idea what could be wrong?

    Hello RankMath,

    My experience is exactly the same as OPs, as long as I stay on (or roll back to) 1.0.42.3 I am fine, but upgrade to 1.0.43/44 breaks the connection.

    I have alerted the dev team to look into this, in the meantime you can try using the Google Site Kit if it still won’t work and disable the Search Console inside Rank Math by going to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

    Hello,

    We have been working on a fix and we have a solution. Since we cannot replicate this issue ourself, we request you to update to the below version of Rank Math by doing the following:
    1. Remove Rank Math from WP > Plugins. Don’t worry, all your settings are safe in your database and they will return once you upload the below version.

    2. Install this version of Rank Math on your website by uploading it from WP > Plugins > Add New.

    3. Activate the Rank Math plugin after it is done uploading.

    4. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Help

    Connect to your Rank Math account.

    5. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Search Console

    Re-Authorize your Google Search Console.

    That’s it. The issue should not come back.

    I have gone ahead and uploaded the new version for you.

    The plugin is activated now.

    Now, you just need to re-authorize Google Seach Console from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard.

    If you are unable to see an update, please clear Rank Math’s transients from:
    WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Remove Rank Math Transients > Remove transients
