Hi – hope you are well.
I know that a canonical URL is a link element that can be used to indicate to search engines that specific URLs are all related to a master page. But, are they usable for SEO?
If I have a master page (let’s say HOME) and then clone the master page (Home) and optimise it for new keys words (HOME – Web Designer), should I use Canonical links pointing to the master page (HOME).
This may / may not help by directing all traffic that searched for the cloned page (HOME – Web Designer) to the Master page.
Is this good practice? Should I use Canonical links like this or have the cloned and altered pages without a Canonical Link?
I would be up for hearing your feedback…
Speak soon?
Andre
