Canonical URL not working

    Hello,
    I have put a canonical URL in the setting – advanced of my pages but those are not working.
    I have an error no canonical URL when I test my page. I also checked the page source and I don’t see the rel canonical.
    How can I fix this

    Could you please share the affected page/URL to check? Please also share your purpose of adding the canonical URL manually so we can assist accordingly.

    Please note that Rank Math automatically generates the canonical URL for all your pages if they are set to index. The main purpose of adding a custom canonical to your pages in Rank Math is to let Google know that it is a duplicate page, and not to be indexed.

    Hello, I added it with code now actually.
    The goal is to send all the urls to the https version with no www.
    I believe I understood the problem my website is still under construction and I asked search engines not to index it yet.

    Is it the case?
    If yes I will remove the code I put on every page

    Thank you for the follow-up.

    In your case, I would recommend redirecting your whole site to https and non-www through the .htaccess method.

    You can get in touch with your web host in this kind of redirection if you need further assistance.

    Please also note that if you have set a custom canonical to your pages, they will not be included in your sitemap. Here’s a link for more information:
