    Hi Team,
I am having an issue with the tool on my website. On one of my pages, I have inserted a Canonical URL but the search engine keeps on crawling the duplicate page (where I have inserted the canonical URL). Please guide me on how I can fix it.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please note that if you made the change recently Google might not have the time yet to crawl your page and you need to wait a couple more days for the new crawl to happen and the results are updated.

Also, please note that if the page shows as indexed now even with a different canonical Google might keep that indexed but understand that the original content is from another page.

If you want to noindex that page you need to set that directive in the robots settings but that would also remove the canonical from the page.

Hope this helps provide further insights into the situation.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
