Cannot edit seo description in snippet

    Hi

    I’m trying to edit the description in the snippet for a page. The schema type for the page is set to “Article” and the “single page description” and “description” fields in the schema are set to use the “seo description” field. However, when I try and edit the snippet when editing the page, the description field’s contents is greyed-out and I cannot edit it. I can edit the title and permalinks fields.

    How can I customise the snippet description>

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    The grayed out variables are just default placeholders. You can manually add a headline or description or choose from Rank math variables in the drop-down. You can check the screencast I have added in the sensitive section to show how.

    Out of interest, why was I not able to edit the description by clicking on the “Edit Snippet” button? I would have thought that button would do take you to the same place as what you showed in your screencast?

    Hello,

    Yes, the “Edit Snippet” button should work but since you already filled those vars in another place (in the Schema), it disables the edition to avoid overriding those settings you already set in another place.
