    Rank Math free

your latest versions of the plugin doesn’t work correctly. I keep rolling back, and despite rolling back versions and auto update being OFF, it keeps updating to the new version?

    Nofollow External Links:

The Nofollow Exclude Domains does not work on the new versions. It works fine on version 1.0.90.

On the most recent version it nofollows links even if on the this list. It’s causing me a lot of problems and losing me money.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the affected URL so we can check as well?

Also, are you using a page builder on your site or adding the content using shortcode?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

hi, no page builder but is classic editor.

The two links on this page are listed for the exclude. It’s happening on all my sites with the plugin with or without pro plugin. I can send some images if needed

    Hello,

Could you please check if the nofollow attribute is still added to the external links if the Rank Math plugin is deactivated? All your data/settings are saved in your database so there shouldn’t be any data loss.

If the issue still persists even without Rank Math activated, the nofollow attribute must be coming from one of your plugins or active theme.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), to determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

hi, as said originally Version 1.0.90 works as it should. so removing rank math is surely a waste of time? it’s the version 1.0.92.1 that is ignoring the exclude over ride.

this is a site with no plugins – https://camera-shop.co.uk/ and it happens.

Please spin up an empty site and test it yourself

    Hello,

From your test site, the external link does not contain a nofollow attribute

    Nofollow

Also, we’re unable to replicate the issue on our test install (Version 1.0.92.1). Here’s a screencast for your reference:

If the issue still persists on your site after following the steps above, we can take a close look at your site.

To do that, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Yes, because I rolled it back so it was not making it a do-follow. The point is that site has zero plugins and a basic theme. But then so has your test BUT your video has given me the answer. You’ve changed the way it works.

Previous versions of your plugin needed the full https:// path to work. And now it doesn’t.

So I will need to go and change all the urls to just domains on about 50 sites.

This is a change as on some sites I do have just the domain as the plugin I used before did that so I still have them on the list and had to create the full url to use your feature.

    Hello,

In our recent update, we have indeed changed the way our excluding of domain works. The settings are only requiring a domain without the protocol so it is logical to just remove the http/s protocol.

With that said, allow me to confirm this one with our developer.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi, I’ll go remove them as it is better this way. I least I got to the bottom of it.

    Hello,
