Breadcrumbs does not show category - Support

I am having an interesting issue with the breadcrumbs.

O one of my blogs it’s working as I want, like
Homepage > Category > Blog post title

see the working example here:
https://cycling-passion.com/ces-las-vegas-2020-blubrake/

But on my other blog, displays like
Homepage > Blog post title

See the example here:
https://ourplnt.com/mechanics-greenhouse-gas-effect/

Settings are exactly the same on both sites. What could the reason be?

How can I fix this? I want to display the breadcrumbs like Homepage > Category > Blog post title

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

You can choose to show the category link in your breadcrumbs at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Breadcrumbs > Show Category

Enable that option:

Hi Todd

Thanks for the answer but it does not work. I am well aware of that switch and now I switched that “ON” on my website which does NOT display category in the breadcrumb. It still does not display the category.

It is OFF on my website which DOES display category in the breadcrumb correctly.

In fact, that switch does not do what I want. As explained under that switch:
“If category is a child category, show all ancestor categories.”

This is not what I want. I want to show the main category in the breadcrumb but somehow I couldn’t do that. Switching that switch on-off changing nothing. As I said above, it is OFF on my site that displays breadcrumbs correctly.

Hello,

Rank Math shows the Primary Taxonomy category in the Breadcrumbs. Can you please confirm, if that is set in the Titles & Meta Settings: https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#primary-taxonomy

If that doesn’t fix the issue then please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Hi Pratik

This resolved the issue. It was “None” selected. When I change it to “Categories” breadcrumbs started working as I expected.
