    Hey, I have a website that has one category “Brands”

    Brands include more than 100+ child categories like

    BMW
    Mercedez
    Aston Martin
    Suzuki
    Toyota

    There are more than 250+ posts tagged under these child categories.

    Suppose I create a blog post – Best BMW cars for offroading and tag it under BMW.

    The Breadcrumbs I see on blog posts are like “Home-Brands-Best BMW cars for offroading”

    I would like to include the child category as well in Breadcrumb, I would like to show breadcrumbs as

    “Home-Brands-BMW-Best BMW cars for offroading”

    Please help me out with this.

    Hello,

    To show the child category on the breadcrumbs, you may need to select it as the Primary Category for your posts like in this image

    It worked, I just wanted to ask a few questions before making the changes live.

    The site is almost 3 to 4 months old now, I was not showing breadcrumbs on the page but in the source code, breadcrumbs were already there.

    Google search console says breadcrumbs are for almost all the posts.

    If I show a new breadcrumb structure on a page, will it affect ranking or will it have any negative effect on my site from SEO perspective?

    Since the breadcrumbs schema is already applied to your site, then it won’t have any effect on your website’s SEO.

    The breadcrumbs shown on your pages will help your visitors/users to easily navigate to your categories and provide a hierarchal structure to your site.
