Hi. I just updated some links in my site. but my blog page is appearing in my post sitemap. I think it should only be included in my page sitemap. As it is a Collection Page not a post.

If I am wrong than please correct me or if I am right than please help me fix this issue.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It is likely your sitemap is not refreshed and up to date as it is being cached: https://i.rankmath.com/7RMMWo

Can you please follow these steps?

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. Head to your WordPress dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and save the settings again.

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

Sorry but I can’t do that can you guide me through it some how. I know that you have no I’ll will but I won’t get permission for this due to security concerns.

    Hello,

We understand and respect your decision for security reasons.

You can follow the steps my colleague suggested above to refresh and flush your sitemap’s cache.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

I have followed all other steps and that didn’t made a change at all. Please do you have any other suggestions.

    Hello,

To exclude your sitemaps from being cached, you should check in your caching plugin settings for excluding option. You can share the caching plugin you are using with us so we can try and guide you on where to add the exclusion rules.

If caching is not on your site, then it is likely your server has caching enabled. Please get in touch with your hosting provider and ask them to exclude all your sitemap URLs from being cached.

Once done, you should purge/clear all cache then resave permalink and sitemap settings.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hello,

To add on that, your sitemap is still being cached, you can check the screenshot I have added in the sensitive section.

You should also try the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

That said, this usually happens if the page is selected to show the latest posts in WordPress settings. If the issue doesn’t cause any errors or warnings in your GSC, you should not be worried about this.

    Hope this helps

How can exclude the site map from being cached? I am only using expires headers and no caching plugin.

    Hello,

I am still seeing that the site is still being cached. Please see the screenshot.

It could perhaps be one of your plugins that has a caching feature.

Please go to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Copy System Info to Clipboard and share it in the Sensitive Data.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,

To add on this, the cache could be via a plugin or from the server. Please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/ and let us know if it helps.

    Looking forward to helping you
