Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing with the automatic redirection after deleting a page on your website.
To check if the redirection is caused by Rank Math, you can start by checking the redirection rules set up in your .htaccess file. You can do this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess.
Once there, you can review any additional redirection rules that may have been set up. If you find any, you can delete them and check if the problem is resolved. However, please be cautious when making changes to the .htaccess file, as any accidental mistakes can break your website. Rank Math creates a backup of your last saved version of the .htaccess file before the edit, so you can restore it if anything goes wrong.
If you find any rules causing issues, you can remove them from the .htaccess file and save the changes.
After doing this, please check if the redirection issue is resolved. If it persists, please let us know, and we will be happy to assist you further.
Best regards.

Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
I have entered the .htaccess info in the sensitive data as I’m not sure what to look from it? Is it ok?
Hello,
Apologies for the delay and for the inconvenience.
The redirect is not being handled by Rank Math, but instead, it is coming from the WordPress native function to auto-complete similar URLs on your site
You can use this tool to check it as well: https://httpstatus.io/
To fix this, you may follow this guide to stop WordPress auto-correcting the URL and return a 404 instead:

Hope that helps.
Great, it worked. Thank you!
I also found another article: https://typerocket.com/disable-wordpress-automatic-or-random-redirect-guessing-of-404s/ – not sure what is better way to remove it?
Hello,
You’re welcome.
If the code in the link you have shared is working, then you can use it instead since it is more updated than the article I have previously suggested.
Also, we are super happy that this issue is already resolved. If you have any other questions in the future, know that we are here to help you.

If you don’t mind me asking, could you please leave us a review (if you haven’t already) on https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/seo-by-rank-math/reviews/#new-post about your overall experience with Rank Math? We appreciate your time and patience.

If you do have another question in the future, please feel free to create a new forum topic, and it will be our pleasure to assist you again.

Thank you.
