Hi, please I enabled the IndexNow addon on Rank Math and I want to ask if I should set up the google indexing plugin also.

I added the Google indexing plugin on my previous website but on my new website I only added IndexNow.

The reason why am asking is that when I search for my website on google using site:codevoweb.com I only see three results.

I have published 7 articles but it’s only one article that Google has indexed. When I checked on Google Search Console it says 7 URLs discovered with a success message.

Google has indexed the article I published on the 7th of January the ones I published from the 15th of January have not been indexed.

Please am I doing something wrong because I submitted the sitemap using Rank Math one-click Wizard.

  • Hello,

IndexNow supports Bing/Yandex and the separate Instant Indexing for Google only supports Google so if you wish to rank in those mentioned search engines, I recommend setting all those features.

Please note that instant indexing features only submit your URL to the search engine to inform them if there’s new content or any update to existing content and it is up to them if they wish to index it on the SERP right away.

It is completely normal for a newly published post/page/website to take time before it gets crawled or indexed by Google. It depends on a lot of factors. Your posting frequency + the domain authority are just two of the many factors Google considers when indexing some new URL. Google assigns a crawl budget to your website depending on these factors (especially these two) and that has a direct effect on how soon or how late your content can get indexed.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Please can someone tell me why Google Search Console says my sitemap is marked No Index?
When I submit the sitemap am told it’s empty and an error status is shown.

    Hello,

Ideally, all sitemaps have the noindex tag applied to them because they are not intended to be indexed, but instead submitted for Google Search Console and similar tools.

You can safely ignore that error.

If no URLs are detected, then it is likely that Google is crawling the websites from other sources like internal links and as a result, the crawl budget of the website is exhausted and the URLs from the sitemap are not detected.

However, I tested the variations of your website with https://httpstatus.io/, and two variations are returning the 200 status.

Except for the preferred variation (which should return only a 200 status), all the non-preferred variations of the website should redirect to the preferred variation and return a 301 + 200 status.

Please follow the steps in this link:
https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#5-check-for-the-correct-version-of-the-sitemap and redirect to the correct variation.

You can also get in touch with your web host regarding this.

Once this is fixed, please exclude the sitemaps from being cached. Here’s a guide that you can follow: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Then, clear your website’s cache and remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account, and then submit only the main sitemap: /sitemap_index.xml.

Further, give Google some time to crawl your website again and see if more content gets indexed.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
