Author Schema Tags

    Rank Math free

I have a couple of questions. I have been following the instructions on “Article Schema Type” and towards the bottom where it says ” How to Add Multiple Author Schema in Rank Math?”, it shows the “Advanced Editor” options but my site does not show the option and has the message “Google does not allow Person as the Publisher for articles. Organization will be used instead.” (see image below). I tried changing it to Blog Post but the Advanced Editor does not appear. How can I fix it?

Also, what is the difference or benefits of adding information under “Preview Snippet Editor” and repeating the same information under Article in the Schema Builder? (see below). Should I repeat the information in both sections?

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

The “Advanced Editor” option is only available in the PRO version of the plugin so you won’t be able to access it since you only have a Free account.

As for the other question, the data inside the Schema tab is to generate the Schema markup that gets parsed by Google to better understand the purpose of the website and if you let the data as default, our plugin will automatically add into the appropriate fields the same data you have in the snippet editor which helps expedite the process.

So, we recommend keeping the Article Schema data as default and focusing on the SEO title and description from the snippet editor.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you Miguel,

Regarding my first question, the error that shows up there says “Google does not allow Person as the Publisher for articles. Organization will be used instead.”
and nothing about the PRO version. If I upgrade to the PRO plan will I keep getting the same error message or will I be able to access the multiple author and other features? I am asking because I do not want to pay to upgrade and end up with the same error message.

    Thanks,
    Gerardo

    Hello,

That warning will only show when you have selected the publisher to be a person instead of an organization and it’s there to let you know that for this property in Schema it will show as an organization to comply with the Google guidelines.

You can change this setting if you want under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Local SEO.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

I just changed the publisher to an organization and will upgrade soon to be able to access the multiple author schema although it seems that google no longer cares too much about authors: Google: Author Bylines Don’t Help You Rank Better; Google Doesn’t Check Credentials

    – Are there any positives/negatives of changing the publisher from a person to an organization?
    – I have been reading many of the tutorials at RankMath and the information is quite overwhelming (too many features to master). What main items/tools would you recommend to focus on to improve my website’s SEO and EEAT? In other words, out of all the schemas and other features, which ones would make the more significant positive income to my website?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    — There is no preference for the Person or Organization schema; they are both useful for the intended purpose, depending on whether your website is a personal blog or media organization. Although Google only recognizes the Organization schema type as the publisher of an article.

    — As for your general search engine optimization, you’d want to focus on your on-page SEO, i.e. the SEO tests, focus keywords, meta & OpenGraph tags, etc. Learn more here. To improve your website’s Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness, you’d want to focus more on your site’s Schema markup – sharing as much information as possible. We hope this helps clarify the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
