Attachments doesn’t redirect to parent page

    Hi!

I am having an issue with redirecting attachments to it’s parent page. I have checked the “Redirect attachments” box under “General settings -> Links”. The media files doesn’t redirect. I have checked that the file is attached to a post. I even tried to add a filter in functions.php from your developer page. And of course, I have cleared the cache :).

Do you know why this doesn’t work?

    Kind regards,
    Tone

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please note that the option we have in Rank Math redirects the attachments. The links you have shared in the sensitive data are not the attachments – they are the actual media files that remain unaffected by that option.

We do not recommend redirecting the media files. Doing so will make the media files not appear as all which would be as good as not having the media files at all.

Here are what the attachments are:

And here is why you should redirect them: https://www.seoblog.com/wordpress-attachment-hurt-seo/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
