    Hi there,

I have an error in one of my sitemaps (attachment-sitemap.xml: It is possible to read the site map, but it has errors)! I have tried all the tutorials here in the support but without success.

    Can you help me please.

My site is indexed but does not appear in google searches.
Is everything okay? Only two blog posts appear in searches, the rest of the site does not.

I’ve used rankmath on all my other sites and I’ve never had this problem.

    thank you so much

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Sorry for the issue you are facing.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Please let us know if you find the culprit.

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

    1. Please delete the sitemaps from the Google Search Console.

    2. Clear your website cache and add sitemap_index.xml and *-sitemap.xml (this might be different for W3 Total Cache plugin) to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin.

    3. Add sitemap_index.xml file again to your Google Search Console.

    That should do the trick.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Wwe might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have just configured your cache plugins to don’t cache the sitemaps and cleaned your cache. Could you try to remove the sitemap from Google Search Console and add it again, to check if the problem is solved?

    Thank you.

Hi Alberto, thank you for your help.

i delete my xml sitemaps and upload all rankmath sitemaps.

The problem of the mais page is resolved, know says that is indexed and fine 😀

The only one that gives a error is this post_tag-sitemap.xml (the sitemap is html)

the post-sitemap.xml have all the others sitemps, do you think that i need to upload the others separatly?

    i upload all individualy.

    post-sitemap.xml
    ph-portfolio-sitemap.xml
    ph-portfolio-sitemap.xml
    category-sitemap.xml
    post_tag-sitemap.xml

but the post-sitemap.xml had all the ones inside, is like i repeate them.

    Hi,

You do not need to submit those separately.

You only need to submit the sitemap_index.xml sitemap.

The post_tag-sitemap.xml sitemap doesn’t exist and it is getting redirected to the homepage.

If I had to guess, I think your tag archives are set to noindex.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Eventually am also facing the same problem that your sitemap is a html… It doesn’t support…. Plz fix this error… Everytime we are getting error in Sitemap only

hit todd!! everything is ok know!

    Thank you soo much,

I just have one more issue, with the main page and canonical.

I received this text from semrush.

“I have studied your issue and would like to inform you that the page https://brunogarcez.com/ has a rel=“canonical” attribute in the Page Source Code and is canonical to https://brunogarcez.com! Regarding the fact that these two URLs differ in one symbol at the end, Google bot, as well as SEMrush bot do consider them as different.
As both pages range in the search engine results, they are being crawled and listed in the Site Audit, but https://brunogarcez.com is meant to be the main one and all the weight from the page with a slash at the end goes to it.
I would kindly recommend you to follow the single model of the URL on the root domain and use it for the whole website”

i dont know what is my main url, i try to change every thing to https://brunogarcez.com and every thing is the same! changed everything to https://brunogarcez.com/ and same.

now i have this 2 URL separately and divide my rank.

i try to change my canonical but know none of these url are on sitemps and indexed on google.

Can you help me by indicate what to do with the canonical and the sitemaps?

i want only to add one URL to main page. I think the canonical link by default rankmath url must have changed this and confuse google.

Thank you soo much for your effort and time.

    Hi,

My main page is https://brunogarcez.com/ (with a slash)

but your sitemap send all the time the URL https://brunogarcez.com (without a slash)

    How i can change that?

This is make my rank split the rank between the URL.

If i upload my sitemaps with https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/, everything is ok.

What is creating this issue? is better to turn off your sitemap?

    Thank you

    Hi Bgarcez,

Please check your URL at WP > Settings > General

Make sure it is with or without slash, per your preference.

Moreover, the URLs are getting redirected to another one so there is no question of rank getting split.

Fonky Web, About the sitemap being HTML, It sounds like you are serving a cached version of your sitemap to Google and your visitors.

You must add all the sitemap file locations to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin so that the sitemaps are never cached. These are the files you must add to the exclusion list:
    sitemap_index.xml
    post-sitemap.xml
    page-sitemap.xml
    category-sitemap.xml
    product-sitemap.xml

This is required since Sitemaps are already cached internally by Rank Math and we flush them everytime you post something new and with our cache – you won’t see the issue you are seeing in Google.
