    Hi,

    I’ve been suffering from an issue with google news and I am sure now that it is related to your plugin. I have a publication there but the articles that appear on google news don’t show the post thumbnail. see link [https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMPfKmwswu9WzAw?hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US%3Aen], the only time it’ll show an image is if I also add a youtube link or a second image inside the post itself.

    I discovered this is related to website structured data, and a google help personal told me that I don’t have a direct link to the post thumbnail image and as a result, I am not in line with google guidelines.

    He also linked me to this https://w3c.github.io/json-ld-syntax/#node-identifiers

    I revisit the plugin and found out I didn’t have the alt attributes for images set. So I turned both on and picked a value. Is this reason? and if not, please help me resolve this asap, this is affecting my visibility on google news

    Thank you for keeping in touch and we deeply sorry for the unexpected delays and any inconvenience that might have caused due to that.

    Rank Math should generate the proper node or the proper schema which is the NewsArticle that is acceptable for Google News. I tested one of your content to Rich Result Test and it was accepted by Google. Please refer to my screenshots here:

    I assume the second article schema here is from another plugin or theme which the support personnel from Google saw.

    With that said, Google takes the featured image from the featured image you set in your post and sadly, it is automatic, I mean, we have no control over it. It is Google’s decision if show it or not. Rank Math added the schema so it increases your odds to display it (so maybe in a few days it will be shown there).
