Adding a primary category for custom taxonomies

    I have a custom taxonomy for categorising posts within a custom post type.

    How can I add the UI and functionality for selecting a primary category for this custom taxonomy as RankMath adds for the WP default category taxonomy?

    Currently, as this custom taxonomy is set as the primary taxonomy for the CPT, the breadcrumbs for posts in multiple categories aren’t displaying the way I want them to.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Can you please confirm which “UI” are you referring to? Are you referring to the SEO controls? If so, you may activate it under Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Post: [your custom taxonomy] and ensure “Add SEO Controls” option is enabled.

    As for your breadcrumbs, you would need to select the categories as your Primary Taxonomy if you wish for your breadcrumbs to display the categories of a certain post type.
