404 Pages on Sitemap

Hi, When I first viewed the Pages sitemap, it showed pages I had forgotten to delete.
After deleting them, I expected the sitemap not to show those pages…but it still does, and when I click on the sitemap page link it comes up as a 404 page.
So, I guess my question is, how do I refresh the sitemap?

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Please open the seo-by-rank-math folder using FTP and delete all the files inside sitemap-cache folder.

That will update the sitemap cache and remove the deleted pages from the sitemap.

If you would rather disable cache using PHP code, you can use this filter: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#enable-disable-sitemap-cache

Make sure to change true to false to disable cache.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
