404 Errors not “hitting”

    Hi,

    I’ve reviewed your postings on 404s not matching. I’ve gone through and verified that we do not have a custom 404 page. Our page is the default one for our theme and it’s setup for core WordPress style.

    Why, it seems, that I cannot get 404s to trigger is that the system seems to be “auto-redirecting” even though I turned this off. Further, it seems like the troubleshooting doesn’t work either, in that I have it enabled, but it still redirects.

    Can you maybe help me understand what I need to do to get this reliably working?

    Thank you for getting in touch and I am extremely sorry about the trouble this might have caused.

    Your URL is being redirected by WordPress automatic redirection, not Rank math. Even if you disabled Rank math redirection module the URL will still be redirected. Please check the screenshot I have attached in the sensitive section under the label X-Redirect-By:. The redirection debug option usually works if the redirection is being handled in Rank math redirection.
