    Hello,
I am getting hundreds of 404 logs that seem to come from previous plugins I used to have installed in my site. (“car rental” and “chauffeur” plug ins.)
I migrated the site from a previous domain (wanderdrive) and installed a new theme (wilcity).
However there a dozens of 404 every day appearing coming from crawl bots.
I´ve already updated my sitemap in google search console manually but logs keep coming.

Can you give me some advice as how to make google bots understand that all of those pages are no longer part of my website?
I am worried about this affecting our SEO in general.
    thanks in advance,
    Sebastian

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Some of the deleted theme pages/ resources might still be on the Google cache and thus getting crawled. You can perform a search for all the indexed date for your site by entering site:domain_name.com on your browser.
You can then go through the links and submit outdated content removal requests for those pages which may still be using the old data.
As a workaround, you can prevent the 404s by redirecting these links to another page on your site.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
