2 Article schema for 1 post

    Hello

I am continuing to test for schema issues in posts where featuring rich snippets has become unstable on Google.

I have inserted two links in the sensitive data section with their rich snippet tested screenshots which show different article schema output and would like to know how this has happened as I was advised by Google Gold Experts to have just one article schema.

Both articles have been selected with 1 official article schema only in the Rank Math schema selector. (ignore the product schema which is generated by other software). One of them shows 1 article, the other shows 2.

    Thank you

  • Ah, it’s a bug in your code for the new version, right?

The older structured markup data tester stated webpage and article schema whereas the other URL on the same test was created on the previous version of Rank Math hence 2 distinct article schema.

However, why show two schemas and not one as advised by the Gold Expert from Google?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Rank math is only adding one article schema to your page. The extra markup seems to be generated by a plugin or the them you are using, please check the screenshot I have added in the sensitive section

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Please let us know if you find the culprit.

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

HI, we are progressing with this issue on my other support ticket called “error log”. The additional schema is coming from my theme which I have had for 5 years without conflict. It seems now your new schema code is creating the conflict.

It seems your Oct 10th update has big problems on my site with Bing not showing any review snippets post-Oct 10th and Google deciding not to show too much or changing day by day pre 10th.

Before the 10th I had no such issues on either search platform for review snippets.

Google advised to me get rid of one article schema but it seems that for one URL when we changed to update it still shows the old article schema on the structured markup checker and not the new webpage schema entry.

Yes, cleared cache, yes it’s indexed via instant indexing, yes we tested it after on the structured markup tool. The URL i am referring to is the yulong one.

    Hello,

For conveniences, lets follow up on the error log ticket: https://support.rankmath.com/?post_type=topic&p=95647&view=all

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
