0 images on product category sitemaps

    Hello,

    I have no empty categories, yet my product categories show 0 images on the xml sitemap. I have over 1500 products in multiple categories. How do I fix this?

    I am trying to quality for google image packs as I have many products per category with thousands of images on my site. How do I fix all this?

    1. Ensure that the “Include in Sitemap” option is enabled for product categories in Rank Math SEO > Sitemap Settings > Product Categories.

    2. Confirm that the product category archives are included in your HTML sitemap by enabling the “Include in HTML Sitemap” option.

    3. If you have empty product categories, ensure that the “Include Empty Terms” setting is enabled.

    By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and have your product category images included in the XML sitemap.

    We tried to check your sitemap but it is showing the Country blocked error:

    In this case, please try to whitelist or open access to countries India, Bangladesh, Portugal, and the Philippines so that we investigate this issue further for you.

    Meanwhile, please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you.

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    Hello,

    Please note that Rank Math only includes the images directly added to your category page, not the images of your products.

    However, after checking your categories, we can see the images are actually added as a CSS background image to the <div> tag instead of actual images inside the default <img> tag.

    Because of this, Rank Math is unable to detect the presence of images on the page (since they are actually not there, just as background images) and thus is also not able to correctly add them to your sitemap.

    For Rank Math to recognize the images, they should be added using the <img> tag. Google and other search engines also do not parse background images.
