Redirection doesn’t work on translated URLs

    Hi there,

    Imagine a website with Spanish as the main language.

    If I want to redirect example.com/contacto/ to example.com/contactanos/, the redirection works.

    Now imagine the same site with Catalan as the secondary language.

    The same redirection won’t work. If I specify I want example.com/ca/contacte/ to redirecto to example.com/ca/contactans/, RankMath doesn’t take /ca/ into account. Even example.com/contacte/ (without /ca/) gives 4040 error.

    There’s a screencast within the sensitive data.

    I think this ticket is similar to this one but wether it’s not the same issue or bug fix hasn’t been applied even after 3 months you announced it.

    How can this bug be resolved?

    Sorry for the issue you are facing.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), we would need to discard it is a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    Also, are you using a translation plugin? If yes, which one?

    Please let us know if you find the culprit.

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Same issue on our site. All redirections for the default WPML language (English) are fine, alle redirections for Dutch, French and Spanish throw a 404.

    Hi Alberto!

    I’ve proceeded as you mentioned in your message. For your ease, I’ve recorded another loom video in which you’ll be able to see that Redirections in secondary languages doesn’t work as soon as the main WPML plugin is enabled.

    I use WPML as the translation plugin. Specifically, I have the following plugins:
    WPML Multilingual CMS (main plugin)
    WPML String Translation
    WPML Translation Management
    WooCommerce Multilingual

    Hope this helps detect and solve the issue, as I’m not the only affected user.

    I have the same problem, but this happened recently. I have had Rank Math for a long time and this bug is new. I used to have redirects in a wordpress with WPML and they worked. The error is in some of the new updates
